Close associate of dissolved STC leader injured in assassination attempt in Yemen’s Dhalea

DHALEA, Sept. 23 (YPA) – A close associate of Aidarous al-Zubaidi, leader of the UAE-backed dissolved Southern Transitional Council (STC), was injured on Wednesday in an assassination attempt in the city of Dhalea, central Yemen, local sources reported.

The sources specified that local commander Aboud al-Baidahi sustained severe injuries during an armed attack targeting him in Dhalea. Due to the severity of his condition, al-Baidahi was immediately transferred to a hospital in Aden for treatment.

The incident comes amid accusations leveled against Saudi-aligned figures in Dhalea, including Baligh al-Humaid. However, official sources have not formally named the entity responsible for the assassination attempt.
The attack against al-Baidahi has sparked widespread condemnation among STC supporters in Dhalea.
