Pro-coalition defense minister issues directives to suppress protests in Aden

ADEN, Aug 24 (YPA) – A Southern media activist said that the defense minster loyal to Saudi-led coalition issued directives to “ Dera Al-Watan” Forces to suppress angry popular protests n the southern Yemeni province of Aden.

This comes in conjunction with the escalation of popular protests condemning the power outages, the collapse of the local currency and the deterioration of living conditions in Aden governorate.

Pro- coalition southern media activist, “Marwan Al-Ahmadi,” said in a post on his “X” account, that “Mohsen Al-Daari,” Minister of Defense, directed battalions of the ” Dera Al-Watan ” forces formed by Saudi Arabia, to raise the maximum readiness, to crackdown the demonstrators.

He also confirmed that the coalition’s joint operations room is following the escalation of angry popular protests, noting that it has directed the preparation of a transport plane.

“Foreigners and international organizations have been warned to get ready to leave Aden following the escalation of popular protests in the city,’  he said.
