Major demonstration in Tel Aviv calls for prisoner exchange deal, end to ongoing war

OCCUPIED QUDS, July 25 (YPA) – Thousands of Zionist settlers gathered in occupied Jaffa (Tel Aviv) on Thursday evening to demand an immediate end to the aggression on Gaza and a comprehensive prisoner exchange deal.

They expressed their dissatisfaction with the political and military stalemate and the government’s failure to recover soldiers and missing persons.

The demonstration, organized by the families of prisoners and missing persons, saw widespread participation and chants calling for the dismissal of Benjamin Netanyahu and holding his government responsible for the stalled negotiations and the lack of transparency regarding the fate of the captured soldiers.

Concern is mounting, time is running out

In a strongly worded statement, the Committee of Families of Israeli Prisoners expressed its deep concern over reports circulating regarding the return of the Israeli negotiating delegation from Doha, which it considered an indication of a decline or stall in the negotiations.

The statement said, “The negotiations have been ongoing for a very long time, and every day that passes threatens the fate of the prisoners, reduces the chances of their physical and psychological rehabilitation, and negatively impacts the intelligence capacity to locate and obtain information about those killed.”

The committee issued a direct appeal to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the minister in charge of negotiations, Ron Dermer, and the official responsible for the missing persons file, Gil Hirsch, demanding “an immediate update on the status of the negotiations and the main gaps impeding progress.”

 Political Stalemate and Negotiating Impasse

These developments come amid growing indications that indirect negotiations between Palestinian factions and the Israeli occupation, mediated by Qatar and Egypt, are faltering. Repeated dialogue in Doha and Cairo has not resulted in a substantive breakthrough in the terms of the prisoner exchange deal, especially after Netanyahu withdrew his negotiating delegation from Doha.
