Islah Party deploys its forces in districts of Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, May 27 (YPA) – First Military Region loyal to the Islah party deployed it forces at the entrances to the districts of Wadi Hadramout, eastern Yemen.

Sources familiar with the matter said that the leadership of the “135th Infantry Brigade” directed its gunmen to deploy and establish new points and fortifications in the cities of Al-Qatn and Seiyun, the center of the Wadi and Desert districts of Hadramout.

The sources explained that the brigade’s militants created several new military points in the Wadi Al-Ain area, at the entrances to Wadi districts.

The sudden deployment and mobilization came in preparation for repelling any attack, following the threats of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) to storm the camps of the First Region in Wadi Hadramout.

On Friday, the UAE sent a ship loaded with weapons to reinforce the STC’s factions in the province.

During the past days, the UAE had sent about 200 military vehicles from Aden to Mukalla in conjunction with the sixth meeting of the STC’s “National Assembly” under the pretext of securing the event, which was attended by the STC’s head, Aidarous Al-Zubaidi.

These reinforcements were described by activists from the sons of Hadramout as indicating Abu Dhabi’s intention to engage in a military confrontation with the factions loyal to Riyadh in the Valley and Desert of Hadramout.
