10 Palestinians injured, 12 arrested during raid near Jericho

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, May 25 (YPA) – At least 10 Palestinian youths were wounded by Israeli gunfire, and 12 others were detained during Israeli occupation forces’ raid into Aqabat Jaber camp, south of the occupied West Bank city of Jericho.

According to the Palestinian ministry of health, the 10 Palestinian youths injured with live bullets in the lower body parts.

The Palestinian news agency said Israeli forces had arrested 12 youths.

The director of the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society in Jericho, Eid Brahma, confirmed  the occupation forces detained 14 youths during the raid into the camp.

Ma’an news agency reported that the Israeli occupation army imposed a complete siege on Aqbat Jabr camp and closed its main and secondary entrances.

The occupation army stormed the camp from several directions, deployed on the rooftops of the houses in the camp, and raided more than 30 homes, including the homes of the governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley, Jihad Abu al-Assal, and his sons. They also surrounded the house of a citizen and fired missiles at him.

They also closed all entrances to the camp with dirt mounds, and prevented citizens from entering or leaving it, as well as preventing ambulances from entering, as heavy military vehicles were present at the scene.

The occupation forces confiscated surveillance cameras recordings from shops and homes, after they raided them and ransacked them.
