12000 stranded Yemeni student call for evacuation from Port Sudan

KHURTOME, May 24 (YPA) – About 12000 Yemeni students, who has been standing for 35 days in Sudan, organized on Tuesday a protest rally to demand to fast evacuate them form Port Sudan.

The rally was held in front of the alternative headquarters of the pro-coalition “government” embassy in Port Sudan, eastern Sudan.

In the rally, the protesters raised banners confirming the Yemenis stranded in Port Sudan coast, after the coalition -backed government.

The statement denounced the weak position of the “government” towards the stranded, the marginalization and tragic conditions they are exposed to.

They confirmed that the Yemeni students stranded in Sudan called on the “government” by all methods and appeals to obtain their rights as human beings, “but unfortunately, all these demands and appeals were ignored.”

It accused the pro-coalition government of lying to the world when it claimed that it cares for its stranded citizens.

The statement confirmed that the stranded Yemenis went through all the horrors of suffering and lived and endured all the hardships, indicating that many of them were exposed to various diseases and epidemics, and some died.

The statement also reaffirmed that the members of the embassy left a few days ago, the embassy’s alternative headquarters to an unknown destination.
