Ongoing economic crises sparks new strikes in Aden, Taiz

TAIZ, Aug. 28 (YPA) – The coalition-held city of Aden has witnessed new strikes in recent hours, amid ongoing economic and living crises.

Butcher shops in the city of Mansoura announced a comprehensive strike in protest against meat pricing issued by the Bureau of Industry and Trade in the Saudi-Emirati coalition-backed Aden government.

Dozens of butcher shop owners believed that the pricing did not take into account the real rising costs associated with purchasing and transporting livestock and operating costs, and will lead to direct losses for them.

In a related context, the city of Taiz has experienced a bread crisis in recent hours due to a strike by Bakery and oven owners in protest against the abuses of the local authorities loyal to the coalition, which have closed several bakeries and imprisoned their owners.
