Hadramout tribes declare armed struggle against UAE-backed factions

HADRAMOUT, May 18 (YPA) – Hadramout tribes threatened on Thursday to declare an armed struggle to expel the UAE-backed factions in the province.

Media outlets sources said in a statement they would open alliances outside the coalition system in the event that Hadramout was announced to be annexed to Aden.

The sources reported, quoting tribal sources, that Amr bin Habrish and Abdullah Al-Kathiri, who lead the reference to the tribal alliance and the Hadramout Collective Conference, officially informed Saudi Arabia of the alliance with Mahra forces, most notably Sheikh Ali Al-Harizi, to fight the battle of expelling the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions from Hadramout in the event of imposing a fait accompli in Mukalla.

The threat came before the start of a broad consultative meeting today in the city of Seiyun by Hadramout tribes, during which it is expected to announce a Hadhrami charter parallel to the STC Charter, which seeks to swallow up the eastern province.

Earlier, the Secretary-General of the Secretary-General of the Hadramout Reference indicated on Twitter that the tribes might turn to obtain support from several parties in the event that Saudi Arabia sided with the STC project in Hadramout.
