MARIB, March 06 (YPA) – Several commanders loyal to Saudi-led coalition forces were killed on Sunday, during confrontations with Sanaa forces in southwest of the city of Marib.
Local sources in Marib governorate told the Yemen Press Agency (YPA) that a number of senior commanders and officers of the so-called Saba axis, funded by the coalition, were killed by Sanaa forces during clashes south of Marib city.
The sources pointed out that the coalition forces launched a new attack towards the positions that Sanaa forces were able to clear last week in the “Shaab Arak” area and the “Al-Baura” area.
After fierce clashes between the two sides, Sana’a forces were able to repel the attack, forcing the coalition forces to retreat back to their positions after suffering heavy losses in lives and equipment.
According to the sources, the leader Yasser Aroul Salem Al-Masri was killed in the clashes in addition to senior military commander from Aden, whose identity was not disclosed.
