Mahra tribes renew rejection of Qishn port lease deal

MAHRA, Feb. 21 (YPA) – Tribes and sheikhs of Mahra province renewed their rejection of a deal to sale and lease of the Qishn port in the province to a foreign company.

A sit-in committee against leasing the port of Qishn held a meeting affirming its rejection of any deal to establish the mining port for the Emirati company “Egham”, which is loyal to the Emirates, considering that the establishment of the mining port is a legitimization of the usurpation of Yemeni lands and wealth for the occupation.

The committee denounced the measures taken by the local authority loyal to the Saudi-UAE coalition, by arresting a number of members of the executive office because of their positions refusing to pass the lease deal.

The leaders of the sit-in committee explained that the sponsorship contract for the Qishn Sports Club by the “Egham” company would be a new provocation against the will of the sons of Qishn and Mahra.

They accused the UAE-affiliated company of seeking to control the capabilities and coasts of Qishn.

The committee’s members renewed their adherence to their unified position rejecting the port deal, which does not meet the aspirations of the people of Mahra and Yemen, pledging to continue the struggle during the coming period, to confront the conspiracies hatched against Mahra province in the various districts and coasts.
