7 militants of STC killed, injured in Abyan

ABYAN, Dec. 22 (YPA) – Seven members of UAE-backed militia were killed and injured on Thursday in Mawdiyah district of Abyan province, southern Yemen.

Local sources in the province reported that elements loyal to Islah party targeted a military vehicle belonging to the Southern Transitional militia, in the “89 Infantry Brigade”, with an explosive device at the entrance to Mawdiyah district, killing three and injuring four others.

The sources explained that another explosive device exploded in a second military vehicle while passing on the main road in front of Qarn Ashal area in the eastern side of Mawdiyah, without mentioning the victims, indicating that the wounded were taken to a hospital in the city of Loder.

The explosions escalated against transitional militia in Abyan, with the demands of Hadramout people for the exit of Islah militants from various camps and replacement of “Hadrami Elite” loyal to UAE.
