Shura council affirms in support of Supreme Political Council for achieving peace in Yemen
SANAA, Dec. 22 (YPA) – Shura Council in Sanaa affirmed its support for the position made by the Supreme Political Council with regard to achieving an honorable and just peace in Yemen.
The council stressed in a statement the importance of giving priority to resolving the humanitarian file, paying the salaries of state employees, lifting restrictions on Sanaa airport and Hodeida port, and ending the war and siege.
The statement rejected categorically all efforts of the coalition forces to keep the situation in Yemen in a state of no peace and no war, and the continuous evasion of addressing the economic situation and the humanitarian file of the Yemeni people.
It noted the coalition countries have to be aware of the sensitivity of the humanitarian situation that the Yemeni people have reached, which must be addressed urgently, and not making flimsy excuses to increase and continue its suffering.
The statement stressed the importance of separating the humanitarian aspect from war and Yemen’s right to an honorable peace that protects its sovereignty, independence and the unity of all its lands.
The council called on the coalition forces to take the Supreme Political Council’s warnings seriously and not ignoring or undermining the rightful demands of the Yemeni people.
It deplored continuing the unjust blockade and seizing oil derivative ships by the coalition, which have led to suspension of public services in the country.
The statement also called upon all the Yemeni people and their national forces to continue to raise readiness to confront the plans and conspiracies of the coalition aimed at destroying and dismembering Yemen and plundering its wealth.
