Military commander affiliated with Islah party killed in Marib

MARIB, Dec. 17 (YPA) – Gunmen assassinate a military commander loyal to Saudi-led coalition forces in the city of Marib, northeastern Yemen.

This was reported by Yemen News Portal, based on testimonies of local sources.

According to the sources, gunmen aboard a military pickup vehicle shot Major Mohammed Ali al-Hajjaji affiliated with Islah party, in the center of Marib city, killing him and wounding his companion.

The gunmen fled after killing al-Hajjaji to an unknown destination.

The assassination comes hours after tribal mediation stopped violent confrontations between tribal gunmen of Al Hariqdan family and “Islah” forces on the international line in Al-Ruwaik, east of the city of Marib, which left about 20 dead and wounded.
