SANAA, Nov. 20 (YPA) – At least 204 children have been killed and wounded as a result of cluster bombs and remnants left by the Saudi-led coalition in 11 Yemeni provinces since the beginning of 2022.
Executive Center for Mine Action confirmed in a statement that cluster bombs killed 44 children and wounded 160 others, while the world celebrates the International Day for Child Rights on November 20, the children of Yemen are searching for their most forgotten rights for the eight years of the absurd war that targeted them in their homes, schools and lives in general until they forgot the meaning of childhood.
“The celebration of the International Children’s Day comes this year, and hundreds of thousands of Yemeni children are still deprived of their most basic rights, from health care, education and food, and their suffering as a result of the remnants of war and cluster bombs dropped by the coalition aircraft,” the statement said.
The statement stressing the death and injury of 145 children, including 29 martyrs, as a result of cluster bombs during the UN truce period that began on April 2, 2022.
The center affirmed that the human losses grew up as a result of the coalition prevented the entry of detectors that would reduce the casualties by clearing the areas of bombs and remnants of war, which confirms the lack of commitment of the United Nations to protecting the rights of the child.
