FM discusses with UNDP technical rehabilitation of Sanaa Airport

SANAA, Oct. 25 (YPA) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs in Sanaa government, Hisham Sharaf, discussed on Tuesday with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP)’s Resident Representative in Yemen, Auke Lootsma, the technical rehabilitation of Sanaa International Airport.

In the meeting, Sharaf expressed the National Salvation Government’s appreciation for the efforts of the UNDP, confirming the government’s commitment to providing facilities to ensure the continuation of the program’s work and projects.

He pointed out that addressing the repercussions of the humanitarian catastrophe is the first priority of the Supreme Political Council and the National Salvation Government, especially ensuring the flow of ships loaded with oil derivatives, domestic gas and commercial goods to the port of Hodeida, the continuation of commercial flights to and from Sanaa International Airport, and the payment of the salaries of state employees without exception.

For his part, Lootsma explained the program’s keenness to take into account the human dimension in all its programs, and to provide services and technical advice.

He called for facilitating the procedures for the arrival of experts specialized in providing technical support to Sanaa International Airport.
