One of UAE-backed Shabwa governor guards assassinated in Shabwa

SHABWA, Aug. 31 (YPA) – Unknown gunmen assassinated on Wednesday, one of the guards of UAE-backed governor in Shabwa and his companion, who were on their way to the city of Ataq, the capital of the province.

According to local sources, unknown gunmen ambushed the former commander of the “Shabwani Elite” militia in Nisab district and one of the guards of the governor, Abu Bakr Salem Al-Diwali, in Al-Karmom area of Nisab district.

The sources confirmed that the militants shot heavily at the commander of “Shabwa defense”, Al-Diwali, and killed him with one of his guards, and fled after seizing his military vehicles to an unknown destination.

Shabwa has been witnessing security chaos since UAE militia took control of it and overthrew the reform Governor Mohammed Saleh Bin Adiew in December of last year.
