Citizen survives assassination attempt in Ataq, Shabwah

SHABWAH, Jun. 10 (YPA) – A citizen survived an assassination attempt by unidentified gunmen in the city of Ataq, the center of Shabwah province, eastern Yemen.

Local sources confirmed that Adel Kassiba was injured on Thursday after being shot by unidentified gunmen believed to belong to the UAE-backed  militia, in the center of Ataq city.

The sources pointed out that the assassination attempt on his  life came after the UAE-backed  militia on Wednesday demolished his commercial space to sell fish in the central market of Ataq for selling  vegetables and fruits.

Since the entry of the UAE-backed militia and extremist elements of the so-called Al-Amaliqa Brigades, coming the west coast at the end of December, Yemen’s oil-rich Shabwah province has been experiencing unprecedented security chaos.
