Sanaa FM condemns US remarks for targeting Venezuelan President

SANAA, Aug. 27 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the US Department of Justice’s announcement of a financial reward for targeting Venezuelan President-elect Nicolás Maduro.

In a statement, the ministry considered the US announcement a dangerous escalation, a flagrant violation of international law and the UN Charter, and a clear assault on the sovereignty of the Republic of Venezuela.

“This hostile act clearly embodies America’s policy of arrogance and haughtiness, and reflects the political bankruptcy that Washington is driving to adopt organized crime tactics after the failure of its siege and pressure tools,” the statement revealed.

It stressed that Yemen, which has been suffering for years from brutal US-backed Saudi-led coalition’s aggression and a brutal blockade, is fully aware of the nature of this colonial mentality, which disregards the sovereignty of nations or the dignity of peoples.

The ministry’s statement expressed the Yemen and its people’s solidarity with the leadership and people of Venezuela in the face of this blatant announcement.

The statement called on the international community and all free nations to take a firm stance against this American arrogance, which sets a dangerous precedent in international relations and threatens international peace and security.
