Sheikh Qassim: The Bahraini movement’s end only when its demands are met

SANAA, Feb. 14 (YPA) – Bahraini Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim said that Bahrain’s political reform path may be long, but no one has the ability to block it and its enemies do not have the power to close its door.

“The Bahraini nation’s demands are of paramount importance. Bahrainis will carry on with their popular uprising until their demands are fully accommodated,” Sheikh Qassim said on Sunday evening in a televised speech marking the eleventh anniversary of the February 14 uprising.

He stressed that our people have humanity, dignity, pride and religion, and they are keen to regain their freedom, and they have their necessities, needs and physical and material demands.

Sheikh Qassim said the Bahraini movement was imposed by the general political and human rights realities of religious, civil, social, individual, living and cultural pressure created by the unjust official policy.

“It is a false wish for people to sit in their homes and surrender to the humiliating reality of wishing for victory and aspiring to it, but they have to ask for victory and run after it, gasp behind it, and give it what they can until they find it,” he explained .

He asked people from all strata of Bahrain’s society to demonstrate perseverance and remain steadfast and united in their struggle against the unjust and arbitrary measures of the Al Khalifa regime.

“Faithful peoples will exercise patience in their struggle against oppression. Nobody could emerge triumphant by sitting idly by. Victory can only be achieved through unity and solidarity,” Sheikh Qassim stated.

Sheikh Qassim also urged Bahraini people to preserve unity as they fight the oppressive political system in the country and tread the path towards democracy.
