Saudi Arabia arrests senior activist defending Rohingya rights

SANAA, Feb. 01 (YPA) – Saudi authorities arrested a prominent activist working in humanitarian filed to defend Rohingya citizens’ rights.

According to the “Prisoners of Conscience” Website on Twitter, which is concerned with news of political detainees in the Kingdom, the authorities arrested the activist, “Omran Al-Arkani”, from his home in Makkah Al-Mukarramah city, without knowing the reasons for the arrest.

Imran Al-Arkani, is from Burma and working in defending the Rohingya Muslims there and coordinating the sending of aid to them, and was the deputy head of the Rohingya Media Center in Saudi Arabia.
