SANAA, Feb. 01 (YPA) – Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed the situation on Ukraine and issues related to providing long-term security guarantees to Russia during a telephone conversation on Monday.
During the phone call they exchanged views on the situation on Ukraine and issues relating to the provision of long-term and legally guaranteed security guarantees to Russia,” the Kremlin said in a statement.
“It was agreed to continue communicating by telephone, and it was also agreed to study the possibility of a personal meeting between the presidents of Russia and France,” the statement continued.
Russia submitted its proposals on security guarantees in Europe to Washington in late December and demanded a written response to its proposals.
