SAM threatens STC with criminal prosecution

ADEN, Aug. 07 (YPA) – About 40 violations of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia against citizens were monitored by the human rights organizations during last July in the city of Aden, south of Yemen.

SAM Organization for Rights and Liberties confirmed that the violations against civilians escalated alarmingly in Aden, through night raids that carried out by the STC militia, in additional to the emergence of armed gangs that kidnapped and killed civilians.

The Organization explained that the campaign of kidnappings that carried out by the “STC” militia was targeting civilians and recruits on the west coast, and a number of political activists and imams of mosques, indicating that many were subjected to enforced disappearance and torture.

During the second half of last July, it documented several campaign of kidnaps against the 11 civilians in Dar Saad district of Aden, after raiding their homes without judicial orders.
