Large cyber attack from Gaza disrupts Israeli websites

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Aug. 02 (YPA) – Prominent Israeli websites were subjected last night to a massive cyber attack originating from the Gaza Strip, according to the newspaper Israel Hayom.

The newspaper revealed that the attack resulted in the disruption of some websites and the change of content to others through messages carrying strong political dimensions.

The Hebrew newspaper explained that the phrase “Time is running out” was written at the top of the page of the hacked websites, accompanied by a message that read: “From the heart of Gaza, from the heart of the resistance that does not know surrender. The massacres you are committing will have only one response: resistance, weapons, and steadfastness until the end.”

The newspaper concluded that the message that hacked the websites was characterized by a sharp and directed psychological tone, and carried an indirect signature that indicated that the perpetrators of the attack belonged to one of the Palestinian resistance factions.

The cyber attack targeted prominent sports websites, including the basketball teams: Hapoel Jerusalem, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Hapoel Tel Aviv, as well as the Premier League management website, according to the newspaper Israel Hayom.

As of Saturday morning, some of the affected websites were still completely out of service, with blank pages devoid of content.
