Slovenia bans arms trade with Israel

SANAA, Aug. 02 (YPA) – The Slovenian government announced that it has become the first European country to ban the import, export, and transfer of weapons and military equipment to and from Israel.

A statement issued by Prime Minister Robert Golube’s office confirmed the decision, which was initiated by the Prime Minister himself during a government session held earlier last Thursday.

Under the new decision, all weapons and military equipment sent from Slovenia to Israel, imported from it, or transported through Slovenian territory are prohibited.

This move comes amid growing criticism of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and as a result of the European Union’s inability to take concrete action regarding Israel.
