Coalition heads to open new fronts in Bayda province in cooperation with al-Qaeda

BAYDA, Jun. 17 (YPA) – Tribal sources in Marib province have revealed new information about Saudi-led coalition’s intention to open new fronts in Bayda province, central of Yemen.

According to the sources, the coalition forces have handed over weapons and large sums of money to the leader in the Islah Party “Abu Abdullah al-Mashdali”,  who is one of the links between coalition forces and al-Qaeda.

The coalition asked Al-Mashdali to coordinate with al-Qaeda groups to ignite new fronts against the Yemeni army and popular committees in a number of districts in the province.

The sources added that the agreement  between the coalition leadership in Marib and “Mashdali” comes in conjunction with the coalition preparing terrorist elements of al-Qaeda in Lawder district in Abyan province to launch attacks against the positions of the army and committees in the district of  Mukayras in the coming days in order to reduce the speed of the advance of Sana’a forces towards Marib city.

On March 30th, al-Qaeda opened a new front in al-Sawma’ah District in Bayda province, with air support and significant logistical support from coalition forces, but the army forces were able to end the confrontations in their favor and take control of the situation.

Al-Qaeda had called its supporters in early March to fight along with coalition forces to prevent Sanaa government forces from entering Marib.

Western press reports have previously revealed close ties between coalition countries and terrorist organizations in Yemen.
