LAHJ, Aug. 16 (YPA) – A former leader of the UAE-backed factions called on the Subaiha tribes in Lahj province to mobilize for confronting the Al Amaliqa forces, Giants, and to recover the weapons and funds of the “Southern Resistance”.
Farouk Al-Kalouli, a former commander of the Ninth Thunderbolt Brigade, called for the tribal to stand united to recover the funds of the “resistance in Al-Subaiha”, which were looted by the deputy Giants commander, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, and his deputy, Hamdi Shukri Al-Subaihi, from the brigade in Al-Harz and Ras Amran, west of Aden, during the past few days.
Al-Kalouli pointed out that the Subaiha and Yafa tribes were being subjected to a conspiracy, explaining that the actions of Al-Mahrami and Shukri have nothing to do with the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s leader, amid hints of implementing agendas that serve Tariq Afash, a nephew the former president Ali Abdullah Saleh.
Last week, the Second Giants Brigade, led by Hamdi Shukri, seized control of the vehicles and weapons of the Ninth Brigade, previously led by Al-Kalouli, following armed clashes on the coastal road linking Aden and Mocha city in the Ras Amran area.
Additionally, the clashes followed Al-Kalouli rebellion against a decision to transfer his forces to Shabwa, which he considered a conspiracy against Al-Subaiha.
