Israeli occupation continues to target aid trucks in Gaza

GAZA. Aug. 15 (YPA) – Mahmoud Basal, a spokesman for the Gaza-based Civil Defense, told Al Jazeera that Israeli occupation forces opened fire as humanitarian aid trucks entered the Strip, resulting in injuries and preventing ambulance crews from reaching them.

Basal added that Gaza City, particularly the Zeitoun neighborhood, was being experienced extremely difficult humanitarian conditions due to the ongoing Israeli bombardment of residential buildings, which is causing large numbers of casualties and widespread destruction to homes.

“The service system in the Strip is facing a near-total collapse,” he warned. “The international community and humanitarian organizations should take immediate action to halt the “bitter reality”, secure aid, and protect civilians.”
