MARIB, March 12 (YPA) – A high-ranking military commander in Saudi-led coalition forces left Marib on Friday after an assassination attempt against him in the city of Marib, local sources said.
According to local sources in Marib province, Brigadier General Ali Ammar al-Jaifi, commander of the coalition’s 14th Armored Brigade, left Marib city to an unknown destination, after he survived an assassination attempt against him.
The sources noted that unknown militants planted an improvised explosive device (IED) in his car in an area between al-Kasara area and Marib city.
The blast injured two of his companions, the sources said.
It is worth mentioning that Brigadier General Ali Ammar Al-jaifi recently tasked to lead the armed groups of the coalition forces in the front of al-Kasara after the death of three commanders of the coalition forces.
