Second-in-command in Tariq Saleh’s forces killed in Yemen western coast

MOCHA, Sept. 09 (YPA) – A second-in-command in Tariq Saleh’s forces was killed amid major advances by Sanaa forces along Yemen’s western coast and their reported capture of military positions and camps.

According to field sources said that the, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Saleh Moqsa, commander of the 13th Republican Guard Brigade affiliated with Tariq Saleh’s forces on the western coast, was killed as Saudi-backed factions suffered rapid setbacks, with the 13th Brigade collapsing completely.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia reportedly carried out airstrikes targeting fighters withdrawing from the Saudi-backed Al-Amaliqa Brigades in Mocha, leaving dozens killed or wounded.

The sources said the strikes were carried out at the direction of Second Al-Amaliqa Division Hamdi Shukri, following the collapse of his forces and their rapid withdrawal after Sanaa forces reportedly took control of positions and military camps near Mocha.

The sources had earlier reported major advances by Sanaa forces, including the reported capture of Khalid Camp and nearby positions, amid a large-scale withdrawal by the Al-Amaliqa Brigades.

They also released footage said to show withdrawing fighters, alleging that Shukri had set up a checkpoint to prevent them from returning to Aden and threatened them with Saudi airstrikes.
