Saudi airstrikes target retreating Al-Amaliqa forces in Mocha

MOCHA, Sept. 09 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia carried out on Wednesday airstrikes targeting fighters withdrawing from the Saudi-backed Al-Amaliqa brigades in Mocha on Yemen’s western coast, leaving dozens killed or wounded.

Field sources said the Saudi strikes were carried out at the direction of Second Giants Division Commander Hamdi Shukri, following the collapse of his forces and their rapid withdrawal from the western coast after Sanaa forces took control of positions and military camps near Mocha.

Earlier, the sources reported that Sanaa forces had made significant advances along the western coast, tightening control over Khalid Camp and positions near Mocha amid a major and accelerating withdrawal by the Al-Amaliqa Brigades.

The sources also released video footage showing Al-Amaliqa Brigades fighters withdrawing amid Sanaa forces’ strikes, saying Hamdi Shukri had set up a checkpoint to prevent the fighters from returning to Aden and threatened them with Saudi airstrikes.
