Jordan overtakes UAE among Arab countries most affected by Corona

AMMAN, March 11 (YPA) – Jordan has surpassed the UAE in the list of Arab countries that recorded the highest rates of infection and death with Coronavirus.

Jordan came third after Iraq and Morocco, recording 442,202 infected cases and 5,466 deaths, and the UAE fell to fourth place, with 417,909 infected cases and 1,353 deaths.

According to the census, published by Reuters, Iraq continued to top the list with 740,472 infected cases and 136,045 deaths, followed by Morocco with 487,286 infected cases and 8,705 deaths.

Lebanon came fifth in terms of infected cases, which recorded 401,826, while its deaths exceeded the number of deaths in Jordan, reaching 5,134 deaths.

More than 117.86 million people have been infected with the Corona virus worldwide, while the total number of deaths resulting from the virus has reached 2,741,114 deaths.
