ABU DHABI, March 11 (YPA) – The UAE and Israel have concluded a new agreement to develop an advanced defense system against unmanned aircraft.
The agreement was signed by the “Edge” group for the Emirati side, and the Israeli Aerospace Industries Company, which specializes in the aerospace sector, for the Israeli side.
The CEO and Managing Director of Edge, Faisal Al-Bannai, said “Our joint development of a defense system against unmanned aircraft will enhance our advanced technology portfolio.”
Al-Bannai considered the agreement to be an important moment in line with the “Abrahamic Agreement for Peace” and the spirit of cooperation and new partnership with Israel, according to the official Emirates News Agency (WAM).
Chief of the Israeli Aerospace Industries Company, Boaz Levy, expressed his pride in the agreement, saying that it is “a starting point for more business and strategic alliances between the two countries.”
The two sides have not announced the value of the agreement, which comes within a series of security agreements between Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv.
