NCM warns of sea disturbances, high waves south of Red Sea

SANAA, March 11 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) Thursday renewed its warning to fishermen and sea-goers in the south of the Red Sea, especially owners of small boats, against sea turbulence and high waves during the next 24 hours.

The center predicted, in its weather bulletin, clear weather to partly cloudy over the coastal areas and south-easterly winds on the southern, eastern, and southeastern to south-western coasts on the western coast, and moderate to active on the western coast, especially on the south of the Red Sea and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab, with a speed of 30 knots.

It pointed out that the weather on the Socotra Archipelago is clear to partly cloudy, with moderate easterly winds, and the weather in the mountain heights is clear and relatively cold during the night hours and early morning on the mountain heights, and clear to partly cloudy during daylight hours.

The center stated that the desert regions are relatively hot and clear, and the winds are moderate to the south, active during the afternoon hours, causing dust and sand.
