SANAA, Feb. 3 (YPA) – US President Joe Biden signed three executive orders to reform immigration on Tuesday.
After signing the orders at the White House, Biden told reporters that he is not putting in place a new law but it eliminates bad policy.”
The US President added, “We need an adequate immigration system, and the executive decisions that I sign relate to immigration and travel bans on Muslim-majority countries.”
The first executive order provides for the establishment of a work committee, headed by the Secretary of Homeland Security, to work on reuniting children who were separated by the US authorities from their families, due to their lack of immigration documents, during the administration of former President Donald Trump.
As for the second executive order, which Biden signed, it urges the US administration to address the causes of irregular immigration, and requires the Department of Homeland Security to review immigration protection policies approved by the previous administration.
The third executive order is to reform the asylum system.
