SANAA, Jun. 12 (YPA) – The Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, officially announced that he is seeking to run for a second term at the head of the international organization.
“It is an honor for me to continue to serve the organization in its pursuit of its goals and the achievement of its noble goals,” Guterres, whose current term ends on December 31, said in a letter to UN General Assembly President Volkan Bozker.
Guterres, 71, took office in 2017, and the five-year term is due to expire at the end of this year.
