5 dead, 9 injured in car bomb explosion in Syrian Ras al-Ain city

DEMASCUS, Jan. 02 (YPA) – At least five people were killed and nine others wounded in a car bomb explosion in Ras al-Ain city, in the countryside of Hasaka in Syria, a medical source reported.

Sources said that two children, two women and a man died as a result of a car bomb explosion in the vegetable market in Ras al-Ain city.

The sources added that three of the wounded people, including a child, are in critical condition.

A source in the opposition national army confirmed that a minibus exploded in the vegetable market in the city center.

On the same level, a source in the city of Hasaka stated that a person wanted by the security forces threw a grenade while being pursued by the Syrian security forces in a market in the city, wounding 19 people.

The city of Ras al-Ain and its countryside witnessed the detonation of more than 15 car and motorcycle bombs, which claimed dozens of deaths and injuries since the Syrian opposition factions took control of the area since the beginning of October 2019.
