Armenia: 4,000 “jihadists” from Libya and Syria fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh

SANAA, Oct. 14 (YPA) – An Armenian diplomat confirmed that about 4,000  Daesh (ISIS) loyal to Turkey from Jabhat al-Nusra and The Sultan Murad Brigade have arrived in Nagorno-Karabakh Bach from Libya and Syria, fighting alongside Azerbaijani forces.

This was said by former Armenian Ambassador to Italy Sargis Ghazarian.

Sargis Ghazarian along with 100 people of the Armenian community organized a sit-in  in front of the House of Representatives in Rome to demand an end to the “Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression”.

“The presence of these anti-Armenian jihadists is dangerous, and even more so if we take into account what the UN Secretary-General has called for to stop the fighting to prevent the COVID-19 epidemic,” the former Armenian ambassador told The Italian news agency ACAI.

He highlighted the “danger that a NATO member state” is fueling “the proliferation of terrorist networks in a region where they never existed,” while Azerbaijan, which “has the credibility of Europe’s energy partner, sees jihadist fighters near gas pipelines.”

“Where is the credibility of the policies of some European countries?” he asked.
