SANAA, Aug 23 (YPA) – Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami arrived in Moscow on a visit during which he will hold talks with senior Russian officials.
Iran’s ambassador to Moscow, Kazem Jalali, said that a new chapter of technical and military cooperation between Iran and Russia is on the way, referring to the visit that the Iranian defense minister started to Russia on Sunday.
Jalali said in a statement in this regard: The Minister of Defense and Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Brigadier General Amir Hatami, will hold important meetings with senior military officials of the Russian Federation, including the Minister of Defense.
He explained that the military consultations between Iran and Russia, in addition to the consultations on the nuclear agreement, continued during the period of the Corona pandemic, adding: Russia voted against the recent draft resolution adopted by America to extend the arms embargo on Iran, and confirmed that it opposes illegal measures and unfounded US attempts, including In that, the UN Security Council resolutions should be repeated.
Russia had opposed a draft resolution submitted by the United States to extend the arms embargo on Iran, as well as America’s attempts to activate the trigger mechanism.
The ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow added: Defense and military cooperation between Iran and Russia is gaining momentum every day, and a new chapter of technical and military cooperation between the two countries is on the way.
