More than 50,000 new corona cases recorded in Brazil

SANAA, Aug. 23 (YPA) – The Brazilian Ministry of Health announced on Sunday that it has recorded 50,032 new infections and 892 new deaths of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) in the past 24 hours.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, Brazil has so far recorded 3,582,362 cases since the outbreak began, with a total of 113,358 deaths.

It also reported that the death toll from the virus rose by 892, bringing the total number of victims of the pandemic in the country to 114,250.

Brazil is the second country in the world in terms of the number of cases and deaths of the virus, after the United States.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has classified the new Coronavirus (COVId-19), which appeared in China late last year, as a global epidemic.
