HADHRAMAUT, July 5 (YPA) – The city of Mukalla, the center of Hadhramaut province in southeastern Yemen, has been in chaos following angry popular protests that led to the closure of main streets and stop traffic in the city.
According to the sources, residents in the city held protests expressing their anger at the power outage and the deterioration of services. They cut off the roads using burning tires and rocks in a protest to the poor services.
Local sources said that the UAE-backed southern Transitional Council (STC) supporters are leading the protests as part of pressure on Hadi’s Governor Faraj al-Bahsani, after he had threatened him with a popular escalation.
