Al-Houthi comments on US Department of State’s report on Safer oil tanker

SANAA, May 16 (YPA) – Member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi commented on a US Department of State’s report on the oil tanker Safar, which is vulnerable to explosion due to the coalition’s ban on diesel engines and its refusal to export its oil reserves.

In a tweet at midnight Friday, Mohammed al-Houthi responded to the report by revealing the text of the proposal presented by the Supreme Political Council and the National Salvation government to avoid an environmental disaster described as the largest and will extend to three seas.

Al-Houthi explained that the proposal is of two items.

He  said: “This is what we have  presented in the document: 1- The deployment of a technical mission led by the United Nations to assess the conditions of the Safer oil tanker and make initial repairs, make the necessary technical recommendations, and carry out repairs and maintenance” of the floating Safer reservoir.

He continued in his tweet: The proposal also included in its second item: an agreement in the light of the technical team’s recommendations on a plan to extract oil from the tanker in a safe manner, and the return of the pumping of oil to the tanker through a Safer pipeline  from Marib to Ras Isaa in Hodeidah.”

“What the US department of State’s report contains is just a speculations, influenced by misleading and confused sources, he said.

“other than what the State Department has said is nothing but speculation.” “We wish them to recover from the virus of fly sources that emit confused tinnitus.”

The safer tanker, known as the “floating reservoir”, containing about 1.2 million barrels of oil, has been banned by the coalition for export, and the tanker has been banned from supplying diesel to operate its engines, which has led to its suspension, which threatens to burning its oil content, according to experts.
