Sudan demands Ethiopian government to withdraw its forces

SANAA, April 12 (YPA) –  Ethiopian troops have entered Sudanese territory and have spread deeply between 15-10-4 kilometers in different areas on the border of the two countries, Al-Tayyar daily Sudanese newspaper reported on Saturday.

In some of these areas, Ethiopian forces have begun to provide some services to Sudanese citizens, the newspaper said.

For his part, The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of Sudan, Lt. Gen. Abdul Fattah al-Burhan, handed over to the Chief of Staff of the Ethiopian Army, Lt. Gen. Adam Mohamed, several demands to the Ethiopian government, including the withdrawal of Ethiopian troops from some Sudanese border areas.

The demands stressed the need to speed up the date of agreement on the deployment of joint Ethiopian and Sudanese army forces on the border.

The newspaper indicated that the memorandum included agreement on the proposed joint forces and their number, their functions and the date of their deployment.

According to the newspaper, Sudanese demands, included setting a date for negotiations on the demarcation of the border between the two countries, with the start of markings in the border areas.
