GAZA, Aug. 24 (YPA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced, on Sunday, that the Strip’s hospitals received 64 martyrs and 278 injuries during the past 24 hours, as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Strip since October 7, 2023.
According to official data, the total death toll from the aggression has risen to 62,686 martyrs and 157,951 injuries since the beginning of the war, while the death toll and injuries since March 18 alone has reached 10,842 martyrs and 45,910 injuries.
In the context of what has become known as the “aid-seekers martyrs,” the Ministry of Health confirmed that hospitals received 19 martyrs and 123 injuries during the past hours, who fell while trying to obtain aid, bringing the total number in this category to 2,095 martyrs and more than 15,431 injuries since the beginning of the aggression.
The ministry explained that hospitals in the Strip also recorded 8 new deaths due to famine and malnutrition, including one child, bringing the death toll from hunger to 289 cases, including 115 children, which reflects the severity of the humanitarian disaster experienced by the besieged civilians.
Many victims are still under the rubble of destroyed homes and in the streets, in light of the inability of ambulance and civil defense crews to reach them due to the continuous bombing and the collapse of infrastructure, the ministry added.
