SANAA, May 5 (YPA) – The Sudanese Government has officially informed Saudi Arabia of its intention not to renew its troops participating in the Saudi-led coalition, a Sudanese news website reported.
According to Al’ahdath News, Khartoum on Friday officially informed Saudi Arabia that it has no intention to renew its military forces participating in the war against Yemen, next month, according to the military protocol was signed and agreed in the operating room.
The Sudanese government wants to redefine its role and duties as part of what so-called “Decisive Storm” led by Saudi Arabia in the light of the overwhelming popular reactions rejecting the participation of Sudanese infantry soldiers in the battles of Yemen.
The announcement came days after representatives of the Sudanese Parliament called on President Omar al-Bashir to pull out Sudanese troops off Yemen.
Parliament said their participation in the war on Yemen is against the Constitution and the law.
The Sudanese news website also reported that the redefining process aims to remain within the operation rooms of the coalition in the field of advisory or participate in logistics forces nut not to participate in combat duties if Saudi Arabia accepted it.
Sudan’s troops are taking part in the Saudi-led coalition in hot fronts such as Midi and the West Coast fronts on the Red Sea, where hundreds of Sudanese troops were killed and injured, and recently, more troops were pushed to Saada fronts.
