Britain confirms declining military influence in Red Sea

LONDON, Aug. 12 (YPA) – A British military website confirmed that London was suffering from a decline in its naval military influence, following the dominance the Sanaa-based armed forces of Yemen imposed.

“Navy Lookout”, which specializes in news and analysis related to operations, procurement, and the future of the British Royal Navy, reported that since 2022, London has decommissioned 15 warships, including frigates, submarines, landing craft, and minehunters, in exchange for the introduction of a limited number of new units.

It noted that these measures have escalated over the past two years, confirming that Yemen has neutralized British naval power, similar to what happened to similar American forces, which once dominated the region.

The website noted that the British Navy suffered from a severe shortage of manpower and excessive exhaustion in all aspects of its capabilities.

It added that the decline in capabilities had led to the almost complete absence of a British naval presence in the Middle East and an inability to support Red Sea operations.
