SANAA, Aug. 12 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology predicted on Tuesday scattered showers in pars of Yemeni provinces.
In its weather bulletin, the center affirmed that the rains may prevail over parts of the provinces of Bayda, Dhalea, Taiz, Ibb, Dhamar, Rayma, Sanaa, Hajjah, Mahwet, Amran, Saada, and the Tihama plain.
It also forecast also scattered rain, on the highlands of Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramout, southern Marib, and western Jawf.
According to the center, the weather in coastal areas would be partly to mostly cloudy, hot, and humid, with the possibility of scattered showers in parts of the southern and western coasts.
The center noted that winds might be very strong in the Socotra Archipelago, in the Gulf of Aden, and on the eastern and southern coasts. Horizontal visibility would be reduced on the southern coasts due to dust and sand.
It pointed out that the desert areas would experience clear to partly cloudy skies, hot to very hot, and dry conditions, with moderate northerly to northeasterly winds, causing dust and sand to rise.
The center warned citizens in mountainous areas where rainfall expected to occur of thunderstorms and against crossing or staying in floodwaters during and after rainfall.
It called on motorists to driver carefully as a result of mountain roads of rock and mud slides, poor visibility due to rainfall, low clouds, and fog.
