Al-Houthi calls on “Martin Griffiths” to prove coalition’s seriousness in seeking peace

SANAA, Feb. 29 (YPA) – Member of the Supreme Political Council Mohammed Ali al-Houthi called on Special UN envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths to demonstrate his seriousness and sincerity of Saudi-led coalition countries in seeking peace and to declare their acceptance of the initiatives.

“To Martin. Peace is the demand of the besieged people who have offered the initiatives and have not yet heard of their acceptance,” Mohammed al-Houthi addressed UN Envy fir Yemen via Twitter on Friday.

At the same time, he reiterated the call of the coalition countries to accept peace initiatives. “Yet we call on the countries of the US-backed Saudi-led aggression to do so, military wars cannot stop secretly, he said.

“If they (the coalition countries) do not have the courage to declare acceptance of the military cessation of aggression against the Republic of Yemen, they are not honest about peace,” he added.

On the other hand, Mohammed al-Houthi commented on Saudi Arabia’s announcement of suspending the entry into the Cities of Mecca and Medina due to the Coronavirus epidemic.

” On the suspension of the entry of Gulf citizens to the cities of Mecca and Medina, he said: If the issue is only for the epidemic of Corona, why is it allowed to enter the rest of the kingdom and only suspend access to the cities of Mecca and Medina?.

He continued: “The announcement of the Saudi Foreign Ministry temporarily suspended the entry of Gulf citizens into Mecca and Medina, reminded me of the words of the martyr leader nearly 17 years ago about deceiving the Jews and planning to target the Hajj, and that one of the justifications “may be said this year the possibility of an epidemic spreading postponed.”
