Ship with 40 passengers on board disappeared off Socotra coast

SOCOTRA, Sept. 29 (YPA) – Yemeni fishermen confirmed on Saturday that they have lost contact with a fishing vessel near Socotra Island.

The fishermen said the ship was heading to Socotra from the coast of Qashan district in Mahrah province, with about 40 passengers on board.

They appealed to local authorities in the provinces of Mahrah, Socotra, Hadhramout, the Coast Guard and international forces in the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea to search for the missing.
