Pro-coalition security official injured in armed attack in Shabwa

SHABWA, April 22 (YPA) – A security official loyal to the coalition was injured on Monday in an armed attack in Shabwa province in eastern Yemen, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.

The sources said that the commander of the tourist police in Shabwa, Salem al-Dahboul, loyal to the UAE, was injured with three of his guards in an attack by unknown gunmen in the center of the city of Ataq, the center of the governorate.

The sources confirmed that al-Dahboul, the brother of former Shabwa security director Awad al-Dahboul, was seriously injured while the militants fled to an unknown destination, while factions funded by the UAE, control their grip on Ataq.

This comes within the framework of the conflict witnessed in the province between factions from the sons of Shabwa and the leaders of the factions brought by the UAE from the West Coast, who are descended from Dhalea, Yafaa and Radfan in Lahj.
