Al-Houthi condemns UN statement on execution of collaborators

SANAA, Sept. 20 (YPA) – Member of Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, has dismissed remarks made by the UN General Secretary in response to the execution of nine men involved in the assassination of the martyr President of Yemen Saleh al-Sammad.

Taking strong umbrage at a statement from Antonio Guterres, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi called it “politically motivated”.

He explained on Sunday, that the UN chief’s statement “came at the behest of aggressor countries, because of their close connection with the diabolical crime,” accusing them of “financing and planning it”.

“The US-Saudi coalition countries admitted this and stated that they relied on their mercenaries on the ground in determining the target,” al-Houthi said.

He pointed out that the judiciary of the Republic of Yemen rules through a published legal reference, noting that Guterres’s suspicion is politicised and is not based on any evidence and facts.

Earlier, the General Secretary of the UN had questioned the integrity of the Yemeni judiciary, as well as the death sentence that was issued by court against those involved in the assassination of the martyred President Saleh al-Sammad.
